Desert Museum

We were up at 7 AM. Two hours later we make it into the car and headed west.

Turner was in the backseat needing to occupy himself after a long chat with CiCi.
He made
a very long snake that transformed into a train
around Old Tucson.

Checking out the something animal that starts with a "C" relying upon his nifty, new hiking shoes.

Our attempt at a picture in the rough.

Football Game

The quality of the movie is bad. Not sure why the words are so fuzzy, but I don't have time to redo it. So...

Tucson Meet Yourself

October 11
Turner and I went to Tucson Meet Yourself. It is a culture & music festival downtown where all the different ethnicities of Tucson are "represented" by food and dance and music and artsy stuff. The food was AMAZING. $2 to $3 for little samples of stuff I never would know to order. The Turkish booth was amazing, but i heard about it only after I finished eating. Turner had a PB&J and potato chips on the way downtown. He helped me eat Paan, Papadum (like a potato chip except these were made with lentils; awesome), and beans that had a name I don't remember. I also had an egg roll (never had one before) and Thai noodles (I eat Thai food once a week already. Couldn't pass up something that didn't come from my kitchen. "real" Thai is way better than my version of it). Turner had dessert but I don't remember what it was. Then he has some cookies which is where this face came from (I pulled it out of my bag and he came rushing over; "That for me isn't it Mommy?")

After we walked around, ate, watched people play instruments, and had a long talk about cars at the car show, Turner played for over an hour at the water fountain.

October

Wow! September slipped away, and October stormed in with a bang. I don't have time to do an official post, so I'll tell Turner's stories through pictures.

First, us representing the Kentucky teams on game day. Crystal and her husband grew up in Louisville, so they wore red. Elise came. She doesn't care about sports so she took p
ics with Turner. I supported UK, of course, and Turner was a hybrid fan (though you can't tell in the picture, he did wear BOTH team colors. I'm not about to force him to choose).

Cici came to visit. Here are a few pics from our
venture to the ice cream social at Turner's school (wh
ich CiCi was here for last year too, even without planning it that way).

Finally, this weekend was our weekend to have B.J. the bear. Ms. Carolyn allows each child to take B.J. for an overnight stay. We must do activities. Change PJs. Take B.J. EVERYwhere. Then, we write a story about it and Turner must draw a picture.
B.J. helped Turner and I bake a cake on Friday in honor of David's birthday (my remembrance ritual every year that Turner is glad to participate in too). D - It was an angel food cake.

On Saturday we went to Adrienne's and kids played all day while grown ups did homework (five hours).
Sunday BJ
wore PJs all day and went to the gym and bought a fish that died.
