Puppet / Mask / Hat making class.

Turner's been (semi) participating in a puppet making class at the Parks and Rec center here in Tucson. The Division of Parks and Rec is one of the few public services that functions here. The services they provide are so wonderful and cheap. So, Turner's in this puppet making class, which he takes with Kilan each Tuesday. I've never gone because I am at work, but the projects are cool, and his stories can get pretty detailed. The first project he brought home was a mask. When he showed it to me I said, "I thought this was a puppet making class." He said, "oh you know Mom you just make what you want." Ah. The mask was of a lion. He jumped around for a week trying to scare me. I am easily startled, so it got interesting.

The second project he brought home was a hat. It has a face and even though many of the little wooden emeralds fell off in the car, it is the most appropriate hat for a kid on the fourth of July. Then, Turner's mommy forgot the hat at home on Saturday.

The final project (he'll miss the next three classes and he missed another class in between) was a PUPPET. This fitting given that I've always thought it was a puppet making class, and Turner argued each week it was a mask making class. And, this puppet was delivered to me today with birthday candles.
